ICC World Cup 2019: Mohammad Amir dropped as Pakistan announce squad for the tournament
Pakistan Thursday left out experienced but out-of-form pacer Mohammad Amir from its 15-member World Cup squad while including batsman Abid Ali in the line-up.
Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq, announcing the World Cup squad and two preserve players, said the 11 from the 2017 Champions Trophy had been retained in the selection process.
“We are expectant and certain that Pakistan will give a superior account of itself in the World Cup,” Inzamam said.
The selectors, while not showing faith with left-armer Amir who has taken just five wickets in his last 14 ODIs since the Champions Trophy two years back, reposed confidence in seniors Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez.
Inzamam said that Hafeez’s final inclusion in World Cup was topic to him being 100 per cent fit before the competition as he is immobile recovering from a thumb damage.
“Doctors have advised him not to bowl or bat now but when his rehab is over he will be back in action in two weeks time,” he added.
Inzamam said hard-hitting batsman Asif Ali and Aamir were in the reserves for the one-day series against England and the side matches before the World Cup.

The fast bowler Mohammad Amir who has been out of form from past few series, have not been integrated to the 15 member World Cup team Squad of Pakistan team. Though, Amir will be traveling with the Pakistan team to play in the England tour previous to CWC 2019 along with the T20 authority Asif Ali. Let’s have a look at this squad.
Fakhar Zaman and Imam ul Haq are the opposite names for the opening batsmen. Whereas, Abid Ali who struck two centuries in the previous ODI series against Australia in U.A.E, can also be used as an opener. However, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez and captain Sarfraz can obtain the accountability in the middle order. But, Pakistan teams will ignore the role of destructive batsmen in the death over and Asif Ali must have been added to this list.
Apart from it, Hassan Ali, Junaid Khan and Mohammad Hasnain will be taking the arraign in the bowling division. Over all, it is a superior and balanced squad for Pakistan in Cricket World Cup 2019.
